Keeping Your Smile
Fresh & Shining Bright

Your smile is meant to last a lifetime. Brushing and flossing every day and visiting Dr. Leadbeater for regular dental checkups will keep your smile healthy and attractive.

It may seem like a hassle to go to the dentist sometimes, but we provide essential care. Regular checkups will also leave your smile feeling fresh and clean.

Essential Care
For the Whole Family

Dental checkups, also referred to as hygiene visits, include a dental exam and professional cleaning. As part of your regular examinations, we’ll use digital x-rays to get a clear picture of your whole mouth. This allows us to anticipate problems as early as possible. That way, we can treat issues like tooth decay before they get out of hand.

Our team offers dental care for the whole family. Providing essential care at an early age will teach your children about the importance of proper dental hygiene and help them develop good habits to ensure a lifetime of healthy smiles.

Oral Cancer Screening

During your exam, we’ll also perform a complete screening for oral cancer. This only takes a few minutes, but it’s crucial for your health. Early detection makes it a lot easier to treat the disease effectively.

Periodontal Care & Treatment for Gum Disease

During your hygiene visit, we’ll provide you with a thorough professional cleaning. We’ll remove the dangerous plaque and tartar that develop on your teeth, helping prevent tooth decay and gum disease.

If plaque and tartar are allowed to remain on your teeth, it can feed the bacteria that cause gum disease. Also known as periodontal disease, gum disease is a dangerous infection that can devastate your smile when left untreated. Symptoms of gum disease include:

  • Red, swollen, and sensitive teeth
  • Bleeding when brushing or flossing
  • Bad breath
  • Teeth that have become loose or shifted position
  • Teeth that don’t fit together when you bite down
  • Infected pockets around the base of teeth
  • Teeth that fall out

Fortunately, we offer a number of effective treatments for gum disease. For example, with scaling and root planing, we remove plaque and tartar from below the gumline and then smooth out the roots so they’ll become firmly attached to your gums.

Tooth-Colored Fillings

Like gum disease, cavities are also caused by bacteria. That’s why it’s so important to keep your smile clean with regular brushing and flossing.

The sooner we detect a cavity, the easier it is to treat. We feature strong and effective tooth-colored fillings to restore cavities. They’re made from glass ceramic in a resin base, and our dentists use them to fix your tooth without leaving a trace.

Root Canal Therapy to Save a Damaged Tooth

The deepest layer of your tooth is called the pulp. It contains the sensitive combination of nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue that nurture a healthy tooth. Physical trauma or a cavity that remains untreated can cause the pulp to become infected.

Every year, dentists restore millions of severely infected teeth with root canal therapy. This treatment involves removing the damaged pulp and restoring the tooth with an attractive dental crown. In many cases, root canal therapy can save a tooth that would otherwise require extraction.
